Metro network adds 27 stations
THE new extensions to Metro Lines 11, 12 and 13 will go into operation tomorrow, Shanghai Shentong Metro Group said yesterday.
The three extensions feature 27 stations, taking the total in the city to 366. The length of the city’s subway network is 617 kilometers.
Line 12 will have 16 new stations. Nine of them are interchanges, which is more than on any other line on the Metro network.
Nine new stations will open on Line 13.
Just two new stations will open on the extended Line 11 — Luoshan Road and Xiuyan Road. A station at Shanghai Disney Resort is scheduled to open next year.
Bus services will operate close to the new stations, the city’s transport commission said.
Another four Metro lines are slated for construction by the end of 2020, the operator said.
