More outlets to offer transport card service

IT will be easier for people to get a refund for their used public transport cards when more card service outlets are added in Shanghai next month.
The cards are the primary means of payment when people take subway, bus or taxi. Local residents and short-term visitors can return used cards to Metro and bus receptionists to get back a 20-yuan refund as well as unused money.
Shanghai Public Transport Card Co said the number of card service outlets in local convenience stores, Metro stations and some banks will increase to 171 in June.
It reminded people that transport card refund and recharge service in all FamilyMart stores will stop after June 30 as its cooperation with FamilyMart comes to an end.
But 50 convenience stores operated by Allday will provide the card refund service, it added.
