New bullet trains start service in Yangtze Delta
SHANGHAI residents will have easier and faster access to neighboring Zhejiang and Jiangsu Provinces as two new high-speed rail lines began operating today.
The bullet trains on the new lines link Shanghai to Ningbo in Zhejiang and also connect Nanjing and Hangzhou, linking together parts of the Yangtze River Delta, the railway operator said.
Shanghai residents also will be able to get to southern coastal areas much more rapidly with the construction of track between Xiamen and Shenzhen scheduled to be complete by the end of the year in southern China.
