Over 400 detained in police crackdown

More than 400 suspects were detained in a police crackdown as city police strengthen patrols at night to better fight crimes.
Local traffic and SWAT police conducted a joint crackdown from Thursday night to early yesterday morning at the city’s crossroads, ferry docks and other places where crimes are often committed, nabbing more than 400 suspects and seizing over 130 grams of illegal drugs such as heroin and methamphetamine, according to an STV report.
Shi Yuxiang, an officer with local public security bureau’s criminal investigation squad, told STV the operation mainly targeted robbery, burglary and drunk driving during night time. Such operation will be conducted more often in the future.
