Parks forced to stay shut
More than 60 parks across the city were shut yesterday due to serious flooding, the Shanghai Greenery and Public Sanitation Bureau said.
Shanghai Guyi Garden, Binjiang Forest Park, Shanghai Zoo, Chenshan Botanic Garden, Gongqing Forest Park, Zhongshan Park, Jing’an Park, Jing’an Sculpture Park, Guilin Park, Zhabei Park, and Daning Lingshi Park were among 64 closed after they experienced large scale flooding and overflowing rivers due to the rains.
The Jinjiang Amusement Park was closed due to safety concerns and outdoor facilities at Happy Valley were also closed.
