Passenger's stuck foot causes significant Metro delays in morning rush hours
THOUSANDS of commuters were delayed this morning after a passenger stuck her foot in the platform gap when she was getting on the train on the Dongchang Road Station of Metro Line 2 at about 9:30am.
The Metro operator worked with fire control staff and police to get the passenger out. Her leg was slightly bruised and she was sent to the hospital for further checks.
The incident affected operations between the Century Avenue Station and the People's Square Station and caused a delay of at least 40 minutes at the Dongchang Road Station.
Crowds swelled at the People's Square Station that is a hub for transfers to other lines.
It's the second incident on Metro Line 2 in less than a week -- a system glitch caused trains on Line 2 to run at a slower speed during the rush hour on Wednesday morning.
