Plan ahead for F1 race this weekend

THE Formula One Chinese Grand Prix will be held today through Sunday in Shanghai's Jiading District and traffic authorities suggested those planning on going prepare how they will get to Shanghai International Circuit to avoid getting stuck in traffic.

The authority said ticket prices have been reduced this year and more spectators are expected to attend the Formula One race.

The highway administration said they would release real-time traffic conditions for the Metro and expressways online to assist people going to the race track. During the event, the latest traffic information will be available on weibo.com/shjtgb, the Shanghai Highway Administration's microblog. From 7:30am to 6:30pm on Sunday, road restrictions will be in place on streets surrounding the circuit.

Highways G2, G15, G1501 and S5 are expected to be very busy on Sunday, the traffic authority said.

The highway operator said it will open extra lanes.
