Power breakdown affects services

A POWER glitch and a passenger’s reckless action delayed Metro Line 1 services for at least an hour in the evening yesterday.
At 5:17pm, the Metro operator posted on its Weibo account saying trains between Xujiahui to Xinzhuang stations on Line 1 were affected due to a breakdown in power supply.
They advised passengers to take alternative routes to their destinations.
Around the same time, a passenger pulled the emergency handle to try to get out of a train which stopped between Caobao Road and Shanghai Stadium stations.
“We understand that the passenger wanted to get off the train, but it only adds to our difficulty to getting things in order and affects other passengers,” the Metro operator said.
The glitch was fixed about 6:10pm.
