Power outage leads to train delays

A power outage at Shanghai South Railway Station this morning caused train delays.

A power substation along the Shanghai-Kunming railway was flooded during the storm yesterday morning, leading to the incident. Train No. G3606 along the Jinshan Railway was among those affected by the power outage. It was stuck near Xinzhuang Station for more than one hour.

Ten trains along Jinshan Railway were canceled yesterday morning.

The power outage lasted about 20 minutes and delays continued throughout the morning due to the backlog.

Meanwhile, a tunnel bridge near East Songjiang Bus Station was flooded even though two water pumps were being used to clear the rainwater. A bus stuck in the tunnel had water nearly up to its roof. All passengers on board were safely evacuated.

The city?s Metro network mostly operated as normal. Line 3 experienced a 20-minute delay between Zhongtan Road Station and Hongkou Football Stadium Station at around 3pm yesterday due to a signal breakdown.
