Public transport 'praised'
SHANGHAI'S public transport still ranks among the best in the country, a recent survey by the Chinese Academy of Sciences revealed.
About 27,000 people in 38 major cities across China were interviewed for the survey. Among the Shanghai residents, 63.7 percent termed the city's public transport as convenient, which was 25 percent higher than the country's average.
As many as 37.1 percent locals said they would take the public transport when they went out. The city government, health care, education, environment, public safety, culture and sport, housing and employment were also rated among the best.
