RAIN and thunderstorms are forecast for the city this week, with temperatures climbing above 30 degrees Celsius again, weather experts said yesterday.
Heavy rain is expected to hit the city today, weakening to drizzle tomorrow.
Wednesday should be cloudy, but then the rain will return, said the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.
There may be a thunderstorm on Thursday and rain will continue through Friday at least, forecasters said.
For today and tomorrow, the high temperature will range between 23 to 26 degrees Celsius. Then the mercury will climb to between 31 to 33 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday.
On Friday, however, temperatures will drop, with the high at around 28 degrees.
Low temperatures this week will be between 19 and 23 degrees, said the bureau.
Meanwhile, the city may soon see the arrival of the annual plum rain season. Usually, this begins in early or mid-June and lasts a month.
