Rent a bike to tour Chongming Island

TRAVELERS to Chongming Island will be able to rent bicycles to tour the island from next month as tourist authorities launch a trial operation with 700 bicycles, today's Shanghai Morning post reported.
Chongming County Tourism Bureau will rent the bicycles for 20 yuan (US$5.93) an hour from four booths in the main business center and scenic spots.
Later the scheme will be extended to 10,000 bicycles, part of a plan to develop tourism after the opening of the Yangtze River Tunnel-Bridge system.
