A NEW downtown tunnel running across the Huangpu River to connect both sections of the city's traffic artery Middle Ring Road in Pudong and Puxi is set to open on January 28, the project constructor told Shanghai Daily yesterday.
Starting in Puxi on the Jungong Road in Yangpu District, the eight-lane, 3-kilometer Jungong Road Tunnel goes southward, then runs across the Huangpu River and stretches to Jinqiao Road in Pudong New Area.
