Service Boost For Metro Lines
SERVICES on Metro Line 7 and 9 will increase from Tuesday, the first working day after the Dragon Boat Festival, authorities said yesterday.
Seven extra trains will run and the interval between trains will be cut to four minutes at peak times to cope with growing passenger numbers.
Shanghai's Metro carried an average of 5.839 million people a day on average in May, up from last year's 5.3 million people.
In the third quarter of this year, the service capacity on Line 6 and 8 will also be increased.
