Shanghai issues yellow rainstorm alert this morning

THE Shanghai Meteorological Bureau issued a yellow rainstorm alert at 11:30am today, warning local authorities and the public to take precautions.
Torrential rains with thunders and lightning are forecast to hit Shanghai this afternoon, the weathermen said.
The thundery downpours are likely to last about an hour, reaching 20 to 30 millimeters of rain per hour, accompanied by gale winds of force 7 to 9.
The yellow alert is the second-lowest level in the city's four-color rainstorm warning system.
