Signaling glitch delays Metro Line 7
A SIGNALING glitch hit Shanghai's Metro Line 7 this morning, causing massive delays.
The signal failure struck the section from Gucun Park Station to Shangda Road Station around 6:35am, the Metro Operator said.
Intervals were extended and trains were forced to run at limited speeds.
Passenger flows were restricted at all interchange stations to Metro Line 7 and the section from Meilan Lake Station to Shangda Road Station.
An emergency backup plan was launched after the malfunction. More buses were dispatched along the metro line to transport the massive crowd.
The problem was fixed around 10am and the metro line has resumed normal operation.
