Stranger causes Metro Line 3 to halt in rush hour
THE operation of Metro Line 3 was interrupted for several minutes this morning when a person was found jumping into the track of the elevated railway, the Metro operator said.
The incident occurred at 8:05am at the Yishan Road Station. Some commuters said on Weibo microblogging site that two or three trains had to stop and wait outside the station, causing overcrowding at the station.
Shanghai Metro posted a notice through Weibo at 8:11am that the emergency had been solved and the service was returning to normal. A source close to the Metro operator said the stranger who entered the track survived.
