Sun set to shine over the holiday
THE sun that arrived in the city yesterday is expected to shine even brighter over the weekend, which is good news for anyone planning a day out during the May Day holiday.
The high temperature is forecast to reach 26 degrees Celsius today, up 4 degrees from yesterday, and where it will remain — give or take a degree or two — through Monday, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said.
While the dry, though cloudy, conditions are expected to continue over the weekend, daytrippers should note that the rains are forecast to return on Monday afternoon.
Despite the improved weather outlook, pollutant-laden winds from northern China are likely to result in a worsening of the air quality in the city today and tomorrow, the bureau said.
