Sunny, cold weekend followed by rain
Shanghai's fine weather should continue through Sunday but there will be a drop in temperature, the local forecaster said.
Due to a cold snap, the city's minimum temperature is expected to plunge from 7 degrees Celsius today to zero next morning. It will fall further to minus one degree on Sunday, according to the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.
The maximum temperature this weekend will stay around 5 degrees Celsius, the bureau said.
"In some suburban districts, the low could reach minus 3 degrees to minus 5 degrees with frost," said Zhang Ruiyi, a forecaster at the bureau.
The freezing weather should end next week and the city will have overcast and drizzly weather again. The high is expected to climb to 15 degrees Celsius, Zhang said.
