Sunny days ahead but mercury likely to drop

It will be sunny in Shanghai this week but chilly as well due to a cold front from the north, forecasters said yesterday.

The mercury will drop to a low of 6-7 degrees Celsius while the high will be 13 degrees today and tomorrow,  according to the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.

The drop is largely because of northerly wind gusts brought by the cold air.

The temperatures will gradually climb on Wednesday and Thursday, with highs of 16 and 19 degrees.

On Friday, it is expected to reach 20 degrees again, meteorologists said.

Despite the cold wave, most days of the week will be sunny.

The air quality should be “fine to excellent” today.

The weather forecasters have reminded people to dress accordingly to ward off any chances of catching cold. They should also drink more water because of the dry weather.
