THE daily peak water demand for this summer is set to reach 7.38 million cubic meters, 240,000 cubic meters more than last year. The water shortage in Minhang District will be eased after the Yuanjiang Water Factory came on line yesterday. Water companies have been working to prevent interruptions to the water supply from typhoons, tides, lightning strikes and pollution.
