TOMB sweepers are warned of a rainy dongzhi, or winter solstice, that falls on Wednesday, according to weather forecasts.

Today is warm with the low recorded by Xujiahui Xujiahui Meteorological Station rose about four degrees Celsius to 12.2 degrees on the morning, and the high climbed to 17.6 degrees around noon.

A light pollution is forecasted for the afternoon. Rains will start to hit the city around midnight, and will last till Wednesday.

It will remain warm on Tuesday and Wednesday, with the temperature fluctuating between 13 to 17 degrees. And rains will weaken and turn to drizzles on Wednesday.

A cold front will arrive the city on Thursday, lowering temperature by four to five degrees.

Meanwhile, air pollutants will be blown from the north, causing light pollution on Friday.

But rains are forecasted to return over the weekend when Christmas celebrations start.
