Tianjin flights disrupted

FLIGHTS between Shanghai and Tianjin in north China were canceled or delayed yesterday after downpours disrupted air traffic at Tianjin's airport.

Eight flights were canceled and more than 14 delayed for up to six hours.

China Eastern Airlines, Hainan Airlines and Air China had to cancel several flights in the afternoon.

More than 5,000 passengers were stranded at Tianjin's airport.

Meanwhile, four flights were canceled and about 40 delayed between Shanghai and Hong Kong because of Typhoon Vicente.
