Tickets go fast
SHANGHAI Railway Bureau said yesterday that more than 130,000 tickets for the newly opened Shanghai-Nanjing high-speed railway were sold on Friday, the second day of the bullet train service.
About 94,000 passengers took the trains the previous day, when the service was launched, officials said. The 300-kilometer route has 21 stops along the way. Passengers are able to buy tickets just before they board the trains, which leave Shanghai every five minutes during peak hours.
