Train glitch halts Metro Line 9 service
A train on Metro Line 9 broke down during the rush hour this morning at Jiuting Station, affecting the whole line and holding up traffic at the station for about half an hour.
Some people posted microblogs around 8:40am, saying the train had stopped at Jiuting Station in suburban Songjiang District for about 30 minutes and passengers on this train and following trains were told to get off, causing chaos at the station.
Shanghai Metro confirmed the breakdown on its official microblog at 9am, advising commuters to take buses because the delay might last more than 20 minutes. But it gave no information about the glitch.
The problem was fixed before 10am and the service of the entire Line 9 returned to normal.
