Transport hub adds two bus routes

METRO passengers can be rerouted to buses as the Jing'an Temple transport hub becomes more integrated, traffic officials said.

Two bus routes are now based at the hub and two more will be added soon.

Hu Zhiyuan, a manager of the No. 4 Branch of Bashi Company, which operates the two routes, said "connections will run more smoothly between subways and buses."

Hu said the bus routes will be especially useful if Metro service is delayed on either lines 2 or 7 and commuters are stuck needing alternative forms of transport.

An underground tunnel will connect the bus stations to Jing'an Temple Station for lines 2 and 7.

Traffic officials said the hub will also include more than 300 parking spaces in the near future.

Last December, Line 1 was shut down for several hours due to a collision between trains. The incident caused problems for thousands of commuters.
