Typhoon Haikui eases, red alert lifted
SHANGHAI Meteorological Bureau lifted the red typhoon alert at 6:07am this morning as typhoon Haikui has weakened to a tropical storm and moved northwest.
The bureau also removed the orange alert warning of heavy rainfall at 5:12am.
Service of the city's all metro lines has restored to normal. Three sections of Metro Line 2, Line 6 and Line 9 which were shut down yesterday due to downpours and the strong gale resumed operation today.
Flights in the city's two airports, Hongqiao International Airport and Pudong International Airport are generally on schedule. The airports are expected to see a surge of traffic volumes today.
