Typhoons tipped for city
MORE typhoons are expected this year, Oriental Morning Post reported today.
Shanghai can expect three typhoons over summer, instead of the usual two. There will be more hot days as well, according to the Shanghai Flood Prevention Office, which held its annual flood-and-typhoon prevention drill yesterday in Longhua Airport.
The next five days will be cloudy with temperatures rising gradually, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said. Yesterday the temperature dropped to 21 degrees Celsius, making it the coolest day since summer began on May 6.
Temperatures will range between 17 and 24 degrees today. And the highest temperature for the rest of the month is expected to be around 30 degrees.
