Virtual nursing home for old people in Hongkou

SHANGHAI'S Hongkou District plans to build up a virtual old-age home to provide services to elderly residents.
Local seniors can visit the website or call a hotline for services ranging from food delivery to haircut and health care.
The program has been tested in the district's Quyang Community and more than 2,000 retirees have benefited from the program.
The district plans to expand the program to cover the whole district.
Currently, only 2 percent of senior people in Hongkou have access to nursing homes due to limited resources, district officials said.
