Warm week but rain will return

THE warm weather is here to stay for the next two days, meteorologists forecast yesterday.

Yesterday's high was 17.6 degrees Celsius and the low was 4.9 degrees. Today's high is expected to be 20 degrees, tomorrow's will be 22 degrees. Early in the morning and late at night, those will drop to around 10 degrees for both days.

The rain will be back on Wednesday but should clear up by the end of Thursday. Temperatures will be a little bit lower on those days, but won't drop much. Wednesday will see a high of around 19 degrees and Thursday's high should be about 17 degrees, with lows on both days above 10 degrees.

All of this means spring may arrive this week. If five consecutive days have average daily temperatures above 10 degrees, it has officially switched over into spring.

Spring usually comes in late March or April in Shanghai. However, it has been arriving earlier in recent years, due to global warming.
