Warmer, cloudy days ahead before typhoon Sanba

SHANGHAI is expected to feel slightly warmer in the next three days as the cold front has left, local forecasters said today.

The drizzle that kept local temperatures at around 22 degrees Celsius this noon will stop tonight and the city will remain cloudy and overcast for three days with a low of 20 degrees and a high of 26 degrees, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said.

However, Sanba, the 16th tropical storm this year, has upgraded to a typhoon and its influence will be felt in Shanghai on Sunday, according to the bureau's forecast.

Sanba was 970 kilometers east from Manila, the Philippines this morning and is moving at a speed between 10 to 15 kilometers towards northwest.
