Weather news for tourist sites
VISITORS can now find out what the weather is going to be like before they visit top scenic spots in Shanghai's suburbs, thanks to the launch yesterday of a new tourism meteorological centre.
Shanghai's meteorological conditions are complex, and it is quite common for it to be sunny on the east side when it is raining on the west side, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said.
"Therefore, complete, accurate and timely weather forecasts for specific tourist attractions are required," said Yang Yinming, deputy director of the bureau.
The 17 top scenic spots in the city include Shanghai Wildlife Park in the Pudong New Area, Dongping Forest Park in Chongming District, Zhujiajiao Water Town in Qingpu District, Jinshan City Beach in Jinshan District and Chenshan Botanical Garden in Songjiang District.
The site-specific weather forecasts are available on the Shanghai government's official WeChat account as well as at hundreds of tourism information multimedia touch screens located at hotels and other sites across the city.
