Weekend weather: Cloudy and pleasant

SHANGHAI'S weather should be comfortable this weekend, weathermen said yesterday.

The weekend will be mainly cloudy with the temperature ranging from 19 degrees Celsius low to 28 high, according to the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.

The fine, cloudy weather is expected to last until Tuesday and the temperature should not climb very high until the middle of this month.

"The weather should be pleasant," said Li Jinyu, one of the chief service officers of the bureau. "The temperature should not be very high as the subtropical high pressure zone is still in south of the city."

Shanghai will see at least two days hotter than 35 degrees Celsius later in this month. Just when was still unclear, Li said.

Shanghai's hottest-ever day in June was 39.3 degrees Celsius on June 26, 1934, the bureau said.
