Weekends to be warm but for now rains stay

SHANGHAI will continue to see an extended run of wet weather today and tomorrow but the weekend is expected to be warmer and sunny.

The local weather bureau said local temperatures will hit a high of around 30 degrees on Sunday.

But the city will remain cloudy with moderate rainfall today, especially in western and southern parts of the city, so keep the umbrellas out just yet.

The mercury will drop to 20 to 21 degrees Celsius with the lowest being 17 to 18 degrees. The high humidity can lead to a cold chill and locals have been warned to stuff themselves up to avoid catching cold.

Today's temperature will be between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius. But the wet weather will give way to bright days late tomorrow with the mercury hovering between 18 and 25, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said. But Saturday and Sunday will be warmer - just perfect for outings. Saturday will be between 18 and 27, rising to 30 the following day.
