Wet weather to last through weekend
SHANGHAI'S overcast and rainy weather is expected to last until Friday and temperature will be warmer, the local weatherman said.
A warm and humid air mass from the south has affected Shanghai since Monday. "The rain will be heavier tomorrow and Thursday and thunders are also likely in parts of the city," said Zhang Ruiyi at the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau.
The high is over 11 degrees Celsius this afternoon and is expected to hit 14 degrees tomorrow. The low will stay between five and nine degrees.
But the warm and wet weather will end when a weak cold front comes at the weekend, Zhang said.
"The mercury will drop by three to seven degrees as a result," Zhang said.
The bureau said the city's temperature in the first half of February is about two degrees lower than the average of the past 30 years.
