Wet weather will continue most of week

THE rest of the work week will be mostly wet as the rain is expected to continue through Saturday, forecasters said yesterday.

High temperatures will remain in the mid twenties with lows between 18 and 21 degrees Celsius, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said.

Today will likely begin with drizzle although it’s not forecast to last long. Still it will be cloudy all day and the mercury will dip slightly to 24 degrees.

The bureau said there is a chance of a thunderstorm on Friday and the high will climb to 27 degrees. More rain is forecast for Saturday with the temperature dropping back to 24 degrees.

Forecasters said Sunday will be mostly cloudy but dry. The mercury will begin trending upwards with a high of 26 degrees. It will be even warmer on Monday at 28 degrees.

The average temperature for the past three days was above 22 degrees Celsius. If the average remains above that today and tomorrow then the bureau will declare it the official beginning of summer.
