3 people held over body found in river
THREE people have been detained on suspicion of killing a man and dumping his corpse in a local river, Shanghai police said yesterday.
The body of the 35-year-old victim, surnamed Song, was found on May 16 by two anglers close to where the Xidayinggang and Shangda rivers meet in Qingpu District.
An electric motor was found tied to the body, police said.
The three people detained are Song’s wife surnamed He, He’s sister, who was not named, and the sister’s ex-boyfriend, surnamed Fu.
They were detained on May 23 and 24 following separate investigations in Changsha, capital of central China’s Hunan Province, and Hangzhou, capital of east China’s Zhejiang Province.
