4 food retailers fail quality tests
JIUGUANG Department Store and online retailer yihaodian.com are among four food outlets to be reprimanded by the local food safety authority.
The names of four retailers showed up on the national food quality check list, Shanghai Food and Drug Administration said yesterday.
Jiuguang reportedly had sold out all the 20 packs of mustard green peas that were found to contain excessive coli group during the national check.
It has now stopped cooperating with the supplier after the warning.
Yihaodian.com also stopped dealing with Anhui Zhongjun Co after excessive lead were found in preserved plum.
Cooked chicken leg sold by Shanghai Shenghua Food Co contained excessive sulfanilic amide, which is an antibiotic. The company has stopped producing and selling relevant products and is screening its chicken supplier.
Salted conch made by Shanghai Shaowansheng Food Co was also pulled up for containing excessive bacteria.
