4 lanes along the Bund off limits for traffic

FOUR of the 10 lanes on the road along the Bund will be closed for the construction of a tunnel extension.
Construction of the southern extension of the Bund Tunnel will start later this month, according to Shanghai Transport Commission. The tunnel along the west bank of the Huangpu River starts from Haining Road and ends at Fuxing Road E. currently. The new section will connect it to the Puxi side of the Nanpu Bridge. That means Zhongshan Road S. will only have four lanes operational for traffic on the section between Fuxing Road E. and Nanpu Bridge during construction work. Authorities wouldn’t say how long it would take to finish the extension work.
