6 held after mistakenly beating up wrong people

Six suspects who beat up people in front of a KTV in Songjiang District were caught on Monday, police said.

Four people were beaten up and their arms and legs slashed after they walked out of a KTV in Huijing Plaza in the wee hours on Monday.

The suspects said they attacked the wrong people.

A man, surnamed Niu,  said on Weibo that his parents along with several others were attacked by some seven people with knives after walking out of a karaoke in Sijing Town.

According to Niu, they started attacking them without saying anything even as his father begged them to stop and tried to find out the reason.

But they slashed them with knives. Niu’s mother was among the  injured.

After a while, one of them yelled that they had got the  wrong people and drove away in a van.

The injured were rushed  to the Qingpu Hospital. Niu’s father had a gash in his right arm while his mother was hurt in the leg. Two others were also injured.

Niu’s parents run a wholesale alcoholic drinks business at a mall on Husong Road. They were celebrating a good sales performance that night.
