An iDEAL launch for a lifestyle website
IDEALSHANGHAI.COM, an English-language lifestyle website run by Shanghai Daily, and its app were officially launched yesterday.
The website aims to offer a complete range of lifestyle information in and about Shanghai and neighboring cities, covering dining, shopping, tourism and living in local communities.
"It's our duty to provide great convenience as well as fresh news in and about Shanghai to expatriates. The website will surely be successful since we have a strong team, abundant resources and actively interact with customers," said Zhang Ciyun, editor-in-chief of Shanghai Daily.
Saidkamol Agzamkhodjaev, Consul General of Uzbekistan in Shanghai, commended the new website. He said he used to log on to Shanghaidaily.com for tourism information and now with this new website, he can access key travel and leisure facts and discover more fun venues in the city.
As the ultimate guide for expatriates, iDEALShanghai will ensure that they never feel lost in the teeming metropolis.
Meanwhile, iDEALShanghai has launched its 2012 awards, with netizens allowed to vote for the most popular hotels, restaurants, bars, travel destinations and airlines of the year. A jury of reporters, columnists and lifestyle writers will evaluate the winners based on the voting result. The vote lasts until October 24 and the awards ceremony will be held in November.
Claus Borregaard, vice president, operations and marketing of Big Bamboo, said the bar has been nominated among the best bars and clubs and he hoped to land the award this time.
Mira Sharma, a veterinarian from Australia who has been living in Shanghai for several years, tried the iDEALShanghai app and found it useful.
"It was very easy to find a special venue nearby and give comments. I hope the website and the app will be kept up-to-date with correct information," she said yesterday.
