Appliances fail tests
A BATCH of Electrolux air purifiers sold at the Zhongshan Park outlet of Gome, China’s second-largest home appliance retailer, made false claims about their “applicable area,” according to the Shanghai Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau.
A separate batch of Toshiba air purifiers sold at a Pudong New Area department store was found to have the same problem, the bureau said. Meanwhile, a batch of air purifiers made by Philips and sold at a Songjiang District outlet of Yolo, one of the largest home appliances chains in the city, and a batch of TCL air purifiers sold at the Zhongshan Park outlet of Gome, did not indicate their clean air delivery rate as required. All of the products have been removed from sale.
