A 20-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of starting the fire that tore through the Yolo shopping center in Qingpu District on March 12, police said yesterday. The suspect, surnamed Zhang, allegedly told police he committed the crime because he was frustrated that his dream to make a fortune in Shanghai had not come true. The blaze caused more than 1 million yuan (US$160,000) worth of damage.
