A CELLPHONE battery exploded on a Metro Line 8 train as it pulled into Anshan Xincun Station at 8:40am yesterday, startling passengers but causing no injuries or delays. According to a witness, passengers on the train reported an acrid smell in the carriage and learned that someone’s HTC phone battery had just exploded. Meanwhile, at 8:20am yesterday, an object fell on a section of track between Shanghai Railway Station and Hailun Road Station on Line 4. This led to a delay of about 20 minutes, said officials.
