Bird sanctuary to be preserved
A WETLAND near the East China Sea will be preserved on the blueprint for the under-construction satellite town of Lingang City in the Pudong New Area, city officials said yesterday.
The wetland features many birds. It will be the world's only wetland less than 100 kilometers from a downtown area and will provide a natural setting for locals to watch birds, according to Lingang administrators. Urban developers also plan to build a tram line circling the Dishui Lake in Lingang.
