CPC Shanghai Committee in session
Shanghai will adopt the highest standards possible to complete major urban projects on schedule this year, the city's Party secretary Yu Zhengsheng said today.
The municipal government will make continued efforts to stabilize consumer prices, improve social security and income distribution, and stabilize the housing market, Yu said at a plenary session of the Communist Party of China Shanghai Committee.
At the session, the CPC Shanghai Committee, which is nearing the end of its current five-year term, Yu thanked Shanghai people for their support to help overcome challenges arising from complex external environment and to carry on reform and social development.
It's also announced at the meeting that Shanghai will convene the 10th Municipal Congress of the CPC from May 18 to May 22, during which a new CPC Shanghai Committee and a Discipline Inspection Commissionwill be elected.
