City mulls more discounts for admissions to scenic spots

SHANGHAI Vice Mayor Zhao Wen said yesterday that authorities are working on ways to have more free and cheaper ticket prices for admission to government-supported scenic spots in the city. Zhao, however, did not give any timetable for its implementation. A total of 56 scenic spots, including the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Wildlife Park and Zhujiajiao Water Town, are offering half-price tickets between September 13 and 19 for the Shanghai Tourism Festival. But there have been complaints that lower prices have led to deteriorating services and poor tour experience as the discounts bring in bigger crowd at the scenic spots.
