A SHANGHAI resident has won prizes totaling 11.5 million yuan (US$1.68 million) in the latest "double color ball" lottery, today's Oriental Morning Post reported.

The prizes include the 9.17-million-yuan first prize and 15 second prizes of 154,800 yuan, the newspaper cited lottery officials as saying.

The lottery numbers were drawn late on Sunday night. Along with the Shanghai winner, four people from other cities won the first prizes.

The Shanghai winner, a veteran lottery buyer, bought the winning tickets on Longwu Road in Xuhui District, according to lottery officials.

On August 18, another Shanghai resident won 26.56 million yuan in the "double color ball" lottery.
