Clear skies forecast for marathon
PARTICIPANTS in this year’s Shanghai International Marathon should enjoy clear skies and cool running conditions, the city’s weather forecasters said yesterday.
The temperature tomorrow morning will be between 15 and 19 degrees Celsius, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said.
While there could be a pollution haze in the early hours of tomorrow, this should be gone by the time the marathon gets under way at 7am, it said.
The organizers said they are prepared for the cool conditions and will have blankets available for runners who catch a chill.
Though there might be some showers today, the recent wet spell should end by next week, the forecasters said.
The weather will be noticeably cooler, however, with a low of 12 degrees from Monday to Wednesday, and a high of 18.
