Company boss arrested over rumors

Shanghai police have arrested the boss of a private information technology company after he was found to have been involved in creating and spreading online rumors, police sources said yesterday.
Fu Xuesheng, 47, chairman and legal person of Shanghai LabInfo Technologies Ltd, was suspected of creating the rumors to slander his competitors, police said.
Fu fabricated a story that the legal person, surnamed Huang, of an interior design and decorating company had bribed a deputy district head in Shanghai, where Huang’s company is located.
Huang died accidentally in May. Fu and Huang had previously been involved in a financial dispute, police said. Fu made up the accusation to get revenge, said police.
